Hello! We are a part of Girl Scout troop 44123. We are working on our bronze award, a 20-hour community service project that we got to choose. We chose this because we know that menstruation poverty is a real thing, and that many people cannot afford tampons and pads because of the “luxury tax” on them in some places, deeming them “nonessential items”. We are trying to publicize this need around our city, because sometimes you have to start small to make it big.

We researched for places all around our city of Washington, DC that give out free period products, and we made a map of places in the immediate area that will give you free period products on request. We know how important this is to our fellow ladies, trans men, and nonbinary friends who need them at that time of month. So wherever you are in the Washington community, we can try to help.
